God is GOD: Alone!
In Samuel we see the Israelites had come to the place where they decided that when it came to governance and protection, God was not enough. The people of Israel rejected the Divine Presence of the Lord from being king over them. This chosen group of people want to be like the other nations. They want a human king to rule over them. God warns them. God reveals to the leaders the ways of the king who shall reign over them. We are a rebellious people as well, and put our preferences before God.
