A New Covenant
The Passover meal was full of symbolism that represented God’s action in the hardship of slavery and the joy of salvation. Jesus takes this meal and uses it to symbolize what he is doing for the people today. He is the bread of life and his blood is shed for the forgiveness of sins. We remember what God has done through Jesus Christ at the Lord’s table today. Through Jesus Christ we are forgiven, saved and cleansed from sin.
