Keeping It Real
Jesus again is teaching the crowds and his disciples. He says the scribes and Pharisees sit on Moses’s seat putting heavy burdens on the people. He knows they are not being real. Their hearts are not given over to the Lord our God. Jesus says we have one Father, the one in heaven. We are the children of God, identifiable with the will of God and aligned to the designs of God that comes only from God. Jesus identifies these as “The weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith.” This is the reason why we must deal with ourselves squarely, honestly and freely.
