MISSION OPPORTUNITIES
WE CAN HELP!
Red Bird Mission School may have to suspend classes for the 2010-2011 academic year. After 89 years of educating and shaping the faith of youngsters in rural Appalachia, the United
Methodist school is at risk of shutting its doors. The mission’s new executive director hopes to reopen the school this fall if additional money can be raised.
Donations can be made directly or through your BUMC giving. Please indicate on your check or envelope Advance # 773728.
- Love
In the Name of Christ -
Love INC of Greater Hancock County is looking for a special individual
to fill Financial Ministry Director position to develop,
lead and coordinate our Financial Ministry program. Financial
Ministry is a key objective for the Love INC board and we are NOW
accepting applications.
The ministry will train Christian volunteers
from many different churches to walk alongside people in need to
help them overcome their financial challenges and move toward self-sufficiency. Skills
training, mentoring, goal-setting, church and community resources
and spiritual and emotional support are brought around individuals
and families to provide a holistic approach to meeting their needs. The
ministry creates accountability and is incentive-based. It
is an actual hand up, not a hand out… At this time,
this position has limited compensation, but the rewards are eternal.
For additional
information and background, please refer to the http://www.loveinc-ghc.org/ web site.
You are welcome to contact Brenda Rodgers, 468-6300, or Scott Getzin, 997-5144,
with any questions about this Financial Ministry Director position. Please send all applications to scott@loveinc-ghc.org or Brenda@loveinc-ghc.org.
The Love INC Furniture ministry is in need of couches,
dressers, washers, refrigerators and beds (except king size). Contact Love
INC if you can donate any of these items.
